Need Help Please : Microsoft WORD " not responding" and OE FREEZES

I open my OE mail, then open the Word attachment, so far fine.

Then I try to copy the text of the word doc onto another email from OE
that I am about to send....
that's when 2 things happen:

1. my OE FREEZES
2. and it say
Microsoft WORD " not responding"

So I cannot cut and paste the Word doc. The Word doc is only 4 pages
long.

I checked my PC
I have 192 RAM
75% free

I have a Win Me and 20GB and 750 Mhz Intel CPU.

I did a scandisk, defrag and AVG virusscan. Still same problem.

Why is this happening ?

Can anyone pls. help me.

I am NOT TECHNICAL.

Thanks in advance
Kim

Sounds like you may have some corrupt files in Word. Just
reinstall word. Put the cd in the drive and it will ask
you if you'd like to repair files. Click yes and let it
go.

Reinstalling Word will NOT cure a corrupted Template file - which, as Mike
has already suggested, is the most likely cause of the problem - and easily
corrected by deleting/renaming the existing file
