Default Screensaver

I recently bought and installed a new mouse and ever since
then my screensaver will not work. I have tried all sorts
of savers and times and power settings but to no avail.
Can anyone help?

Get a different mouse or use power management to shut down the monitor after
a certain amount of inactivity.
