Default Wireless Internet Connection Trouble

I recently purchased a Netgear WG511T wireless pc card and it works fine in
my laptop running XP. I've installed it on my laptop running 98 and it sees
and connects to the network, but I cannot pull up any pages on internet
explorer, or use IM programs. I've tried assigning a static ip to the
computer and a whole bunch of other stuff too. Anyone got any ideas for me?

Thanks!

Check that last post. The Win 98 computer DOES NOT see or connect to the
LAN. The Netgear Wireless Assistant that comes with the card does see and
connect to the router. Still stumped though

Trevor, have you made any headway on this issue, I have to same problem. I
had mine working for a couple of months, then I went somepalce where I had to
switch back to dial up for a couple of days but when I came back in range of
a wireless connection I couldn't access the net anymoer eventhough, like
youself, my netgear assistant said it was reading a strong connection. I know
that 98 isn't the best for wireless but mine was working, I think i just need
to figure out what switch to flick again.
