"New" disappeared from Windows Explorer right click menu

The "New" option has vanished from the right click menu in Windows Explorer
(WIN98 SE). It's even missing in the File pull down.
I can access the drive through the network from another WIN98 PC and it
works fine from there.
Thanks in advance for any ideas on how to get it back.

False alarm. Sheesh! The fix was just a few posts down in the newsgroup
list. Thanks to PCR and Gary for the solution. Still kind of curious what
could have caused the problem in the first place. I certainly haven't been
mucking around in the registry. I do download and try out a lot of software.
Maybe one of them did something......

It's a fairly common issue. That's why you see the fix on Jim's site, where it's
been since time immemorial.

I don't know why it happens. Probably due to the various installers that tend to
add items to that list. One false move and the menu items disappears.

You are welcome. There is a fair smattering of lost "NEW" here in River
City. They are all fixed by Eshelman's .reg, but no one has said what
caused it that I recall.
