Dell's Vista discussion group is much better than all the drivel on
Microsoft's Vista. It seems the users are more sophisticated. I agree with the hope that this site continues. Before retirement I was signed in under a different name (corporate) starting with OSs 95/98 and stayed until 2002 so I recognize a lot of the "graybeards" , and their female counterparts. Also like the international flavor. -- I mastered Wordstar graphics! "webster72n" wrote: Yeah, of all the groups I visited to far, this is the best one yet and hope we can keep it alive. Without my ME Box it would have been much more complicated. I thought ME was good to fix itself, but Vista is way ahead. Where Avast is concerned, I was under the impression it interfered with SR, yet obviously I was wrong, that is only in WinME, and AVG is just as good. Now I have both, except in a different galaxy. Sorry, I digress. Yes, I've got AVG (free) running without any problems on my Vista and XP PC's. I only run full scans once a week which seem to have kept me safe. Regarding AVG 7.5xx (for Win9x), I read in the Win98 Group (Glen Ventura, aka glee) that the definition updates will cease at the end of February. What a shame, but as that being the case, I'll probably wait to see what effect the last update has - i.e., will it give me a permanent nag screen? - or will I be able to live with it. Otherwise I will probably (attempt to) install Avast. Is Win9x still being targeted? I've lived with AVG for as long as I can remember and it's never let me down. I'll be sorry to lose it. A silly question: How can one access and adopt this group? Quick Search didn't yield any positive result for me... "Corday" wrote in message ...
