Copying this over from the spyware news group.

Mike.....is Foxit the one you are using?? I see a new version is out.
Think I will get rid of that bloated Adobe reader and use this one.

Cheers......Heather

Ditto here Joan, only (tiny) feature I miss is the 'Real Out Loud' utility.
Just find it useful sometimes g

BTW - Happy NY

A quick comment:

Adobe Reader 8 is much lighter and seems to be better integrated in Windows,
IE and FF than previous versions.

IMHO you should give it a try (it runs only on WinXP).

MUCH Lighter ????

FoxitReader 2.0 @ 3.7 Mb (installed) vs.Adobe Reader 7.0 @ 20 Mb (Download)
vs. Adobe Reader 8.0 @ 21 Mb(Download)

Hell's bells - the installed ARE 7.0 folder in my Program Files folder is
128 Mb !!

No contest!!

BTW - My existing copy of AR v 7.0 is beginning to fail on shut-down of XP.
Might just uninstall and forget it.

Same here, Joan.
As a WinME user I prefer Foxit, as advised by Mike M. and will go for the
updated version, as Heather suggested.

Harry.

Happy New Year to you as well Mart.
I don't use a PDF reader that much, my phone bill comes in one and I have
a few cross stitch patterns needing one. Foxit meets my need without being
such a hog, mind you I haven't gotten around to uninstalling Adobe yet, I
was waiting to see how I got on with Foxit.
