Default MS Backup Error

Dear NG:

Win 98 SE w/all Windows updates.

If I open an existing backup job or create a new one, select Options...,
select the Exclude tab and then select Add..., I get the following error
message:

MSBACKUP caused an invalid page fault in
module CDFVIEW.DLL at 0167:639095e6.

This happens on two different machines running Win 98 SE.

I've tried shutting down all running programs with the task manager.
Leaving only systray and
explorer running. I still get the error.

Other than this "Exclude" problem Backup funtions properly.

Any help resolving this issue would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin

Default MS Backup Error

Jeff:

Thanks for your response.

I'm afraid that since I'm running IE version 6.0.2800.1106 the links
provided
were mostly irrelevant to my situation.

I DID try the reinstall of IE as mentioned in the third link. However it
had no
effect.

As I mentioned earlier Backup functions properly except for this one issue,
therefore
I'm NOT going to pursue the matter any further.

Thanks again for your help.

Default MS Backup Error

Hi Jeff,
I read the NG here and had some questions that concern the Back Up app. for
win98se. The errors that I keep having with this app. are from [index.dat]
and [schedlog.txt] running in the background while the back up is running. I
have closed all running app. on system except explorer.
I know what [schedlog.txt] is for Task Scheduler.
I do not know what [index.dat] is. It resides in temporary files, history,
cookies.
Also, MyBackup.qic is also busy.
All state that they cannot be compared or restored!??? [in report]
Thank-you.
