Updating Windows ME
Windows ME 7/15 2004
In 2001, Windows ME was installed on my new Compaq, and I've been installing the critical updates since then. I like ME very much and don't plan on upgrading to XP. Looking ahead, if ever my computer crashes, I will again install Windows ME from the ME startup (boot) diskette. Question: after I re-install ME from the diskette, what Is the preferred way to install all of the many updates that have been available during the past 3 years or Thanks, Joe |

Updating Windows ME
You download all the updates from the Catalog and save them on your machine
or on a CD. If you go to the WindowsUpdate site you'll see the catalog in the left pane. "Joe S." wrote in message ... Updating Windows ME
Since you're planning ahead, order the Windows Security Update CD. Cuts out
a lot of time and a certain amount of patch redundancy. It's free, order now. http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu.../cd/order.mspx Contains patches to Oct '03. Shane "Joe S." wrote in message ... If you don't see the link, click the Personalise Windows Update and make the appropriate changes). |

The Windows Update Catalog (replacement for the old Corporate Windows Update) will be in the left pane after selecting it in Personalise WU. Shane |
