Im not a developer by any means. Do I need this at all for the os to be
working?

Think I check marked it during an update.

No. You will only need to install the .NET Framework if you have an
application that requires it. The Win Me operating system does not but it
is quite possible that a future application you might install will require
the .NET Framework . Whether you install it or not is up to yourself.

If you ever want to use Paint Shop Pro, it requires that .Net Framework 1.1
be installed first.

I didn't know that are you sure, I have PSP 7 on here and I had it when
I used WinME and never had to install .Net Framework.

No....you are right, Joanie. I have PSP 7.2 on here and never have
installed the .Net framework either.......he is misinformed. It has been on
this computer for 18 months at least.

Sorry but PSP 8.0 does NOT require Net Framework. I have it, also had
ver 6, and use it for most of my editing of images.

I'm running WinXP Home.

My PSP 8 + Animation Shop requires Net Framework 1.1. Maybe different PSP
bundles don't, or maybe it depends on what features you are installing.

Hi Heather my version is 7 the anniversary edition, don't know whether
I've ever done any updating on it, I don't very often use it at the
moment g
