Default Unable to load kernel32.dll

Every time I try to install Shockwave, I get this error:

Could not load the DLL library c:\windows\system\kernel32.dll
An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.

Tried to contact Macromedia, but no help there. What can I do
to install Shockwave 10?

This could be because Win Me is not a supported platform for the latest
version of Shockwave. See
