Cannot Install PNY Flash Drive
Is the driver partitioned and formatted for use with Windows 98? If the
device is accessible then the message you are getting indicates it does not have partitioning or formatting that Windows recognises. If your USB needs updating you will find the software at the www site of the USB controller manufacturer. If USB is built into the motherboard then look for updated motherboard drivers at the motherboard manufacturer's www site. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "J. P. Cannot Install PNY Flash Drive
Before Windows can see a logical disk drive that it can use for storing data
(as distinct from simply seeing that the device exists) the drive must have at least one partition, and the partition must be formatted. If your device was not designed for Windows 98 then it might not have the correct partitioning. If the partitioning is correct, then you should see the drive in device manager, with a letter assigned to it. If you get the error when you try to access it, then it may need formatting. Right click the drive letter then choose Format drive. To create the partitions on these devices usually requires software provided by the device manufacturer. Have you confirmed with the manufacturer that your device is compatible with Windows 98? If so, have you checked whether or not the manufacturer provides a utility to make the disk partitioning compatible with Windows 98? -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "J. P.
