Default Invalid Application

hello all,
I am running win98se and recently got bombarded with all sorts of trojans
and parasites, thankfully they have all been removed.
Since then I get a small dialogue box stating "DSC invalid
application".(this is only on reboot/startup) It has an ' ok ' button which
when clicked removes it but brings up one of those ' this program has
performed an illegal operation' dialogues (which also has DSC written in the
heading).
I click on the x then it disappears and the computer runs fine.
Anyone got any idea what may be going on?
Like i say, the computer runs fine after getting rid of them.

thanks for replies
jane
