View a logfile for TCP/IP ethernet
How can I view a log file of the TCP/IP activity in Windows 98?
Specifically I want to view the DHCP requests that the computer's ethernet adapter is processing, (similar to viesing the "Status" "Log" page in a Dlink router. My Dlink router is showing a "DHCP Request" and then "DHCP Request Success" every 2 1/2 minutes. I want to disconnet the Dlink and connect the Windows 98 machine directly to the DSL modem (which is in bridge mode), and see if the Windows machine acts the same as the Dlink router (i.e., showing a DHCP request and sucess every 2 1/2 minutes). Thanks. -Dennis -- Dennis Kessler http://www.denniskessler.com/acupuncture |

Windows 98 does not log TCP/IP traffic. You'd need to find a software
package that can capture network traffic for analysis, such as Ethereal (http://www.ethereal.com/) to do this. -- Richard G.
