It makes networking a little easier if all computers use the same
workgroup name, but it isn't necessary. A computer in any workgroup
can access a computer in any workgroup.

How does one access computers in different workgroups?

Thanks!

To access another computer in any workgroup, type the other computer's
name in the Start | Run box in this format:

\\computer

To see all of the workgroups on a network in Windows 98:

1. Click Network Neighborhood.
2. Click Entire Network.

To see all of the workgroups on a network in Windows XP:

1. Click My Network Places.
2. Click "View workgroup computers".
3. Press the Backspace key.

Then, click a workgroup to see the computers in that workgroup, and
click a computer to see its shared resources.
