Default WIN98 DOES NOT BOOT FIRST TIME ARROUND

When starting my PC, I just receive a black screen. When
switching off and re-boot, Windows starts.

How do I fix this?

This could be a sign that one of the printed circuits has developed a
hairline crack. When the computer is cool, the metal on the circuit
board contracts and the crack opens up . . . creating a defect. As the
computer warms up, the metal on the circuit board expands and the
crack closes . . . eliminating the defect.

Go to the hard disk manufacturer's web site and download their diagnostic software
respective to your hard disk. After the test, you will know if the hard disk is bad or
not..
