Word 2000 freeze
I have been using Word 2000 earlier today without a problem. This evening
when I went to use the program it would not open and froze my system. I tried rebooting but to no avail. I tried removing the program and re-installing it with no luck. I loaded all the updates, and the program initially opened, I got to the "do you accept the licence agreement screen", and before I could do anything I received a fatal error message (kernal 32 (?)). I rebooted but again I could not even open word. The computer froze again. Any suggestions? |

Word 2000 freeze
It the error message states "Kernal32" then you have a virus on your hands.
The operating file is "Kernel32.dll" Check it out. If still no joy please post your exact error message and the operating system you are using. -- Henri Leboeuf Web page: http://www.colba.net/~hlebo49/index.htm === "Jeff" wrote in message ... Word 2000 freeze
I am using windows 98 SE. I have an anti-virus program always on, and
re-run it just in case in safe mode. No virus's found. My computer freezes at the "logo screen" of Word 2000 whenever I try to open the program. "H Leboeuf" wrote in message ... If it's Norton, then see if you have the Office Plugin enabled (it's in the configuration options somewhere_. If you have, try disabling the Office Plugin and see if Word now operates OK. (PS If you *do* have Norton, junk it and try something better, like Avast! (www.avast.com)) HTH -- Regards Nigel Stapley www.judgemental.plus.com reply-to will bounce |

Word 2000 freeze
I am using etrust EZ anti-virus. I gave up on Norton quite some time ago,
as it was consistently causing my computer to freeze on start-up. "Nigel Stapley" wrote in message ... Jeff wrote: I am using windows 98 SE. Word 2000 freeze
Based on a thread above (word shuts down windows), I renamed the normal.dot
file to an unusable name, and now word seems to open fine. "Jeff" wrote in message ... I am using etrust EZ anti-virus.
