Default Installing additional hard drive and later XP

I'm getting ready to install a second hard drive in my system and in the
very near future will install Windows XP on it to dual boot with ME.
I'm hoping someone here can answer my question. I know some of you have
XP (probably ALL of you by now!) and maybe someone has done this before.

I'm going to install a 100GB Maxtor and want to use Maxblast's option
that will copy the Windows ME install from my current 20GB drive to the
new drive so that the new 100GB drive will be my boot drive and the old
20GB drive will be additional storage. Then I'm going to install
Windows XP on the new drive (while keeping ME on the new drive for dual
booting) so that I can boot back to ME if need be without having to mess
with the IDE cable attached to the two drives. In case you're
wondering, I'll be doing a clean install of Windows XP using a Windows
98SE install CD for my qualifying prior OS (or whatever the correct
terminology is!).

My question is: will Maxblast wipe out the old drive when it moves
Windows ME to the new drive?

I'm hoping the answer is "No" but haven't been able to find anything
definitive in the Maxtor installation guide or via Google concerning
this issue. The installation guide does say "When MaxBlast is finished
copying data to your new boot drive..." but I don't want to make any
assumptions concerning this. I'd like the old drive available exactly
as it is now so that it would be possible to boot into Windows ME from
it (by changing its position on the IDE cable) in case something goes
wrong with the "MEcopy"/"XP install" scenario.

Thank you,
Nancy
