Default mmsystem.dll missing

Hello folks-

Trying to install mmsystem.dll in the [boot] section of
System.ini, but I have nine [boot] sections and it is
preceded with a section with garbage in it...some of the
symbol appear to be computer code, not letters. It startsa
with "LBDX..."

BTW, my other WinME box has only 1 [boot] section, which I
would expect.

The first [boot] is frozen; it does not allow me to create
a line at the end of the section to add
drivers=mmsystem.dll.

I can insert the cursor in the other [boot] sections, but
will wait for advice before doing this.

Maybe this will help with other KERNEL32.dll error
messages I get (HELPCTR, RESTRUI, coupla others).

Thanks all.

Since you have a second PC running Win Me why not copy/use the relevant
sections from the system.ini file on the Win Me box having no problems on
that with which you are having problems.. Alternatively if this problem
is only recent use scanreg /restore to roll the registry, system.ini and
win.ini back a maximum of five days to before this problem began (if
within the last five days).
