Windows Installer Service

I'm attempting to install McAfee Internet Security 6 but
the Windows Installer Service does not open. I've
followed instructions for re-registering the installer
service but MSIServer does not appear to be in the
registry at all so I'm unable to verify that the location
of the Msiexec.exe file is correct.

I attempted to re-install the installer service but it
will not install. The dialogue box says the program
already exists.

To reinstall the Installer - download a fresh copy of the v2 installer from
here
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...2-DE3BB768148F

Then do a Search for files named msi.dll on your PC - rename all to MSI.OLD
then run the installer

That should do the trick
