System clock
I recently installed a new CMOS battery to get my clock to
stay accurate yet it routinely falls behind. I keep the computer on all of the time due to a cable internet connection. What can I do to have the system clock remain accurate? |

System clock
If your clock is losing time whilst Win Me is running, rather than when
switched off, then the problem isn't due to the CMOS battery but rather that you have an application running that is stealing clock cycles and thus causing the clock to run slow. The only way to establish which program it is is by trial and error and eliminating each in turn. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP James Ascher wrote: I recently installed a new CMOS battery to get my clock to stay accurate yet it routinely falls behind. ALL posters from the CDO interface (MS's Web access to the newsgroups) are
initially assigned that alias - it's only if they can be bothered to change it that we see anything different (most either can't be bothered, or want to maintain some degree of privacy - or don't read the help pages) -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2004, Win9x) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's or http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/f.../Mar27pmvp.asp "Sunny" wrote in message ...
