Default no booting anymore!

Hii all,

I have a W98ME machine that started doing the following
after I did a full scandisk:

when I turn it on, it gives the error message -
Explorer has caused an error message in SHDOCVW.DLL
Explorer will now shut down.

this happens after the logon screen.

I looked in M$ website and the only thing close is
something about corrupted files in compacted folders
or files having names that are too long but that doesn't
seem to be relivant to my situation.

any ideas?

charles.......
