How to get rid of user

Once upon a time I was told in order to access an XP network printer from
Windows 98 that I had to create a "user" and log in with the same login as
the XP machine had. It didn't work. I finally got the printer problem
solved. Now I'd like to get rid of the "user" I created. But when I try to
delete it, it tells me I can't delete a user that's logged on. How do I log
in to the original (no user) configuration so I can delete the user?

Thanks, Glen. I got it figured out before I saw your post. I just hit
"cancel" at the login and that let me remove the "user". You could almost
call that too easy. Looks like just anyone could log in that way and delete
users at will. I still got a logon prompt but then I went to "passwords"
and changed that to where everyone has the same preferences and that took
care of the logon too. Now I'll go read the KB article you referred me to
see and see how I was *supposed* to do it!
