Windows 98 install problems

hi. i am having some serious problems reinstalling windows 98. at first it
was the hard drive(it failed) but i got a new one and i still can't install
windows without receiving all kinds of error messages. for example, when i
get to the part where i enter my key, an error message pops up msgsrv32.exe
has caused an error and will be shut down. also, after formatting my hard
drive using maxtor's maxblast plus, i boot up from the cdrom and as it begins
to install windows, for some reason it stops dead and i have to reboot and
start all over again. thanks in advance for all the help.

Try removing unnecessary peripherals, such as modems or sound cards,
then remove and reseat the memory modules. If that doesn't help, go to=20
http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm and create a Windows 98 boot=20
floppy. Use it to start the computer, insert your Windows 98 CD, type=20
"setup /c" and press "Enter".
