Default 'explorer has caused an error' keeps poping up

everytime i click on 'my computer' or any other program on
my desktop, i get the 'explorer has caused an error in
(unknown). explorer will now close. but when i run in safe
mode, i can access 'my computer' and all the other things.
ive did a scandisk and a defrag as well, but still no
luck. i also used my virus scanner and found 2 viruses
that it disenfected. please any advice will greatly be
appreciated. in desperate need!

You may have a virus/spyware hijack

download the Stinger from here and run it to make sure that A-V-disabling
viruses are not present on your PC
http://download.nai.com/products/mca...rt/stinger.exe

- update your virus scanner and run a full system scan of all files.

Reboot to Safe Mode and run CWShredder - to remove variants of the
CoolWebSearch hijacker.

Use CWShredder, the removal tool:

http://www.merijn.org/files/CWShredder.exe
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads...CWShredder.exe

download AdAware from www.lavasoftusa.com, install, update, and run it to
remove spyware, adware,
and other such nasties from your system.

ok ive done that and used those programs you have listed.
now everytime i click on 'my computer' or my files or
anything, i get a blue screen saying "error 06 CASD
00005E66". the weird thing is, i can still access all of
this stuff in safe mode. and i can still access the
internet as well in normal mode. but even when i do a
search for files, the computer locks up and i have to
restart. whats the deal with that?

Try this

Start|Run
type
SCANREG /FIX
and click OK - Windows will reboot, fixing the registry.

See if that helps.
