Working after a while the mouse pointer disappears
from the screen and the Cntrl key even does not locate
it. After moving around a wildly bit it comes on and goes off. Same thing
is on restart.
I am not using any mouse utility. It is Windows Me drivers
and it came with the computer.
Any help?

First thing to eliminate is the hardware. Are you able to try a different
mouse?

+1 on Godfrey's reply. Also, is this mouse wireless or does it have a
'tail'......their little tails are subject to breaking wires internally and
you can often duplicate the problem by simply pulling, pushing, twisting,
shaking, etc. on the tail (plus, the mouse really likes this!!). My guess
would be hardware, also.
Heirloom, old and bet Godfrey is some good
competition!!

A very generous and measured response to Mr Wilkes' reply, HL

Note to Mr Wilkes:-

Although imitation is generally regarded as the highest form of flattery, as
an unwritten (or perhaps a not written often enough) rule in these WinMe
News Group's - that nobody, but nobody copies HL's tag lines - as I'm sure
Harry will attest!

However, I would suggest that you can't be anywhere near as old as Heirloom,
otherwise you would have been well aware that imitating HL's tags is almost
sacrilege.

But a good suggestion of checking the hardware/mouse though, maybe look for
malware too?

Mart

Harry has his own business to tend to and is still trying to find his TL.
How old did you say HL is - 95?
Can you imagine the oldest person lived to be over 900? H.

Mr Mart,
I confess, I have committed a cardinal sin on this venerable NG -
temptation. Just couldn't resist imitating the esteemed HL's tag, something
I have admired, respected and revered since its conception. But there has
always been this nagging question driven by curiosity - just how old is HL
or who is the oldest poster here? Yes, a little bit of flattery with an
ulterior motive!

Godfrey

P.S. Anyone here on Facebook? How about forming a WinME group?

Godfrey.....for shame!! You have now committed Cardinal Sin
#2....asking HL how old he is. Older than dirt is the answer!! And
Texas Dirt at that.

As for who is the oldest poster, well, ah do declare.......yet another
transgression!! Oh the shame of it all.

As for Facebook, yep, I am on it, but think it is a tad useless.
However, I believe it would be too much to ask the venerable and ancient
WinME users and abusers to move there. I can hear *Sir Michael*
harrumphing now.....even at this hour. (G)

Cheers.....the Canuck.

Ahh, Mart. Godfrey didn't impose on the TL....he just said "Old", not "Old
and"....there is a distinct difference! And, as far as my actual, for
really, no doubt about it, sincere, no lie, swear on a Bible age.....Heather
has it right, as always! I brought the first load of dirt into
Texas!.....brought it from Canada, I did! Bought it from a really old lady
up there in Toronto, just can't seem to recall her name....started with an
'H'.......no, er, hummm, maybe an 'F'??....err, nah.
Heirloom, old and I know who brought the first dirt
to Canada!!
