download problem
Hope someone can help me. My sister is using windows 98 se. Everytime she
goes and tries to download a file it will not let her pick where she wants to download the file to. It automatically goes to where it wants to. Is there some place in windows 98 se that I can fix this problem. Any suggestions would be most greatly appreciated. Darlene |

This is controlled by file type.
Go to My Computer, View, Folder Options, File Type (or Control Panel, Folder Options depending on your operating system). Search for the affected file type, highlight it and select edit (or advanced). Turn on the option to confirm open after download. -- _______________________________________ Hyperlinks used to ensure advice is current Sandi - Microsoft MVP since 1999 (IE/OE) http://inetexplorer.mvps.org "Darlene" wrote in message news Hope someone can help me. [] As I read Darlene's question, it wasn't "it doesn't let me choose what to open it with", but "it doesn't let me choose where to put it". I would have said that's a browser setting, but assuming she's using IE, it might not be, and I wouldn't know where to look. She _could_ try trying to find a "save as" function rather than a "save" (under right-click maybe?), as that usually lets you vary the location as well as just the name. |
