Re-enabliing Ethernet
This ASUS P4P800 motherboard has built-in
Ethernet LAN, described as "Marvell Yukon Ethernet" before I disabled it in BIOS (having in 2004 multiple difficulties with a bad OS installation and faulty DUN -- all solved then.) Now with a wireless modem on hand I need to reinstal Ethernet capacity: 1. In the BIOS I re-enabled On-board LAN. Should I also re-enable On-board LAN boot ROM? (No explanation in MB manual.) 2. What drivers (or INF file) are required for Marvell Yukon Internet? When PCI Ethernet is found at reboot as a New Device Win98SE fails to find for itself the right drivers: and no subfolder on the CD in / Drivers / Netlan is named anything like Marvell or Yukon (neither listed in its README.TXT.) 2b. No fewer than 222 INF files on C: include the string ETHERNET -- but not one MARVELL or YUKON. What next in order to activate the Ethernet device? -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |

Re-enabliing Ethernet
it should be on the motherboard CD. If not you can download the drivers from

It should have never been enabled to begin with - "re-enable". -- Jonny |
