Default Email Address setting one up....

I know,, I will be getting all sorts of things hurled at me..... (so long
as they are boomerang shaped, at least i know that got something
along the way.)

An Email Account:: !!
I have only ever had one,,,, mine.
Now, I want another one,, the ones you set up through hotmail or
whatever.... (unless anyone has got an even better way?? ) so that
the account is merely an address where one picks up mail.
I d/loaded a program today (utiilty) that asked for my email addy.. it was
then I realised I didnt want to give my real one, but I also wanted what I
was d/loading..
Are you still here Heather??? can you help a boomerang tosser???

Disposable E-mail addresses can reduce the amount of undesired E-mail
that you receive. For example, let's say that you want to buy some
widgets from the WidgetsRUs web site. When you place an order, the
site requires you to give an E-mail address. Instead of giving them
your main address, you can create a disposable address, for use only
by them. After you receive the order, you might not want to get more
E-mail from WidgetsRUs, or, worse, they might sell your address to
someone who starts sending you spam. In either case, you can cancel
the disposable address that you created for them, and you won't
receive any more messages sent to that address.

I use the AddressGuard disposable E-mail address service that's
included in Yahoo! Mail Plus. Other services include Spamex,
Emailias, and ZoEmail. For more information:

Check out www.gmail.com or www.yahoo.com. Hotmail sucks, IMHO.

Default Email Address setting one up....

Hi my crazy Aussie poster!!

I have 3 that I use for various things. GMail is for genealogy,
naturally. I have OE set up so it gets those posts. Their spam defence
is good.

I use Yahoo for anything and everything that I sign up for. Spam
defence is good on that too. I also have a really anonymous Hotmail
Account that I rarely use. Used to keep Microsoft Bulletins, etc. on
that.

My ISP (Rogers) has joined up with Yahoo and they also have disposable
addresses as Steve Winograd explains. Those are a damn good idea, but
haven't used them as of yet. Must go into Rogers and see what else they
have to offer. Photos will now be on Flickr. Looking for something to
make my own webpage cuz I am now designing jewellery and want to send a
picture to Joanie, grin.

Just as a point of interest, when I went back to Rogers (after 4 months
of crappy Bell service), I asked for my old address back. The tech and
I were amazed to see the spam start rolling in before we finished
setting it all up. Those bots don't care if their spam bounced for 4
months obviously. Just a thought if you are getting a lot of it.

Cheers....Heather

I had some Yahoo! Photos online through at&t Yahoo! HSI; but I won't
go with Flickr. Why pay for it when I can get it free elsewhere.

Norman, as far as I know, it is free. If not, I can just use my generic
Yahoo Canada one, which is the Yahoo account I was referring to, not my
ISP/Yahoo one. If you read that carefully, it DOES make sense, lol.

My brother uses gmail.
I have one address on Yahoo and I haven't seen any spam.
I created an address on Hotmail once, and got over 100 spam messages in my
InBox in the first 5 minutes or so..

Hi there,
Don't you have the photo's on your machine ? if so couldn't you just send
me one in an email.

I have a few addy's but I use Hotmail for the ng's and that gets a bit of
spam but I have the filters set to junk everything g I can then just
check it when it comes into OE.

I do have gmail but haven't really used it as such so far, plus I have
email addy's with my Yahoo group and my mobile phone but I use Mailwasher
so I can check all the email I receive on the servers before downloading
it to my inbox.
Joan
PS: Why don't you have a look at freewebs for a web site, it's what I
have, most of my cross stitch is on there.

Joan,

Are you getting a bit suspicious that the jewellery is still at the
"design" or "concept" stage? vbg

SMACK!! I hope you felt that. LOL!!

I do have about 6 beginner ones on here (beginner *photos*, I
mean)....they aren't the best. I have to get it set up properly.
Those were taken on the pillow and arm of my new sofa.....grin. Tacky,
tacky, tacky.

I had one piece on today when I went out and 3 offers to buy it. Moss
jasper with antique gold beads. Makes my eyes look like two olives.
(same colour, I mean.....I can just hear the Loon now with a comment).

My problem is with being retired......who sees the stuff?? If I worked
in an office, I could sell it easily. But I will get those photos done
and send you guys some. Or give you a link to Yahoo Photos.

Elayne just sent me a picture of a chunky turquoise necklace that she is
drooling over.....guess I know what she wants for Xmas. (G)

'Scuse 'butinski' Heather, but hells bells, there's no such word as
"retired" - at least not in my vocabulary.

As soon as you start brandishing that word around, you soon find that ALL
your friends and acquaintances dump work in your direction on the false
premise that you've got now't to do and YOUR time is for free whilst THEIR
time is worth $1000 per hour!

Cynical - Moi?
