windows 98 locks up till cd-rom drive removed
My system hangs while idle for several minutes and also
while using my internet browser. The drives are not always recognized on start-up. After I re-booted the system, the disk configuration update only recognized the main c: drive. Without the cd drives being recognized the system runs fine. Help! |

No, nothing of the sort. Could this be a ram problem?

It could be a faulty CD drive or cable, or a problem in the BIOS.
