Advanced Power Management
My Compaq laptop is having standbye issues (as I pressed the never again go on
standbye button) after a restart. I wanted to get my compute to go on standbye again so I was advised in another newsgroup to delete the Advanced Power Management from the device manager and upon reboot Windows would install it again. Well I did delete it, but Windows did not prompt me to install it again, and know my problem is more severe. So to fix the issues I reinstalled Windows 98, but it appears the problem was not resolved. I cannot enter standbye mode (unless I reboot with all startup items disabled). Neither do I see the Advanced Power Management in the Device Manager, and also I know get Invalid Page faults from Explorer everytime I reboot,so the only way I was able to safely reboot is with all startup items disabled. What can I do? John |
