Firefox and Win-Me: make Internet Explorer default browser
I have MS Internet Explorer and Firefox installed on my Win-Me machine,
both browsers exist peacefully side by side with MS Internet Explorer being my default browser. However, yesterday, I accidently made Firefox my default browser and now I don't know how to switch back to MS Internet Explorer being my default browser. I tried (in MS Internet Explorer): menu Tools/Internet options... select the Programs-tab activate "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser", I clicked OK, I then opened a new Internet Explorer Window, but Internet Explorer does not check to see whether it is the default browser (at least it didn't ask the question). I then deactivated and subsequently re-activated the option and rebooted my machine, but still no success. Internet Explorer still refuses to check to see whether it is the default browser. Can you help? |

Try right-clicking the IE icon on your desktop and select Properties. Go to the Programs tab. Tick/select "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the = default browser". Click Apply and OK to close Internet Properties. Launch IE and you should be asked if you want IE to be the default = browser. Cheers, Zee wrote in message = oups.com... If Zee's solution doesn't work (lock/hold) either, you could try a System
Restore and roll-back to 'the-day-before-yesterday'. Hopefully, your original settings will be put back in place. Mart wrote in message oups.com...
