If it's a chiropractor, you shouldn't have any problems immediately
afterwards - it's about two days later it hits you! - although you'll probably feel dog-tired, and thirsty (when it does hit, you'll either feel wonderful, or bloody awful for a day or two) If it's an osteopath - well, you'll find out VBEG They seem to come from two different schools of thought..... 1) no gain without pain 2) "sorry - I didn't hear the phone for the screaming!" Nah, seriously, they're not too bad, but not as gentle as the chiro's are. FWIW, I just installed a fresh copy of Adobe Reader 6.0.1 fully, under
WinME, and it launched in ca. 57 seconds, loading all available plug-ins, per the default installation. I obtained Ver. 1.32 of the Reader Speedup, as described previously, and ran it using the default configuration/options. Afterwards, the Reader launched in ca. 1 second, a 98% improvement.! (My hardware is reasonably modern, very fast: cpu = AMD Barton 2500+ w/ 512 MB PC3200 ram.) ****** Adobe Reader Speedup Author : Joseph Cox Website : http://www.tnk-bootblock.co.uk To DL the zipped installation file: http://www.tnk-bootblock.co.uk/getfile.php?id=arsu IMO, this is a dramatic improvement. Furthermore, the author states: "Notice: Since v1.20, ARSU stores unused plugins in the Optional folder of Acrobat/Reader. This means that when a PDF is viewed and Acrobat/Reader requires a plugin for full functionality, it'll be loaded automatically for that particular PDF only." and SUPPORTS -------- This software supports the speed-up of the following: (Note: CE, free, and full versions are supported) Adobe Acrobat 3.0 Adobe Acrobat 4.0 Adobe Acrobat 4.0.5 Adobe Acrobat 5.0 Adobe Acrobat 5.1 Adobe Acrobat 5.5 Adobe Acrobat/Reader 6.0 Adobe Acrobat/Reader 6.0.1 Adobe Acrobat/Reader 6.0.2 Adobe Acrobat/Reader 7.0.0 In other words, any version of the Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader software from 3.0 and upwards should be supported." N.B. In my hands, the Reader unloaded within 10 seconds after exiting, as reported by Process Explorer. It does not remain loaded, as others have reported here. IMO, this Adobe Reader Speedup utility, V. 1.32, is a helluva nice tool. Thank you, Mr. Cox. -- Jack E Martinelli 2002-05 MS MVP Shell/User /DTS Help us help you: http://www.dts-L.org/goodpost.htm In Memorium: Alex Nichol http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/e...ts/nichol.mspx Your cooperation is very appreciated. ---------- "Noel Paton" wrote in message ...
