my screen freezes

my screen freezes up and then of course i can't shut down except to push the
off buttom. what can i do? it's my daughter's computor so i'm looking for
help on mine.

Does the same thing happen in Safe Mode?

Such errors are often caused by problems with the RAM - download DocMemory
from www.simmtester.com and create the boot disk. Use this to boot the PC,
and run the test overnight to check the RAM thoroughly.
See what it reports.
