Default window appearing at start up

Hi

I installed cyberlink multimedia pack from a cd which came with my new dvd
drive (an emprex), Why did I install it? Don't know!!!

Now every time I boot up, a window with cyberlink as a title appears on the
desktop and I have to close it.

How do I stop it appearing , I also noticed that it appears in the task bar,
but is hidden from view.

It is listed in program files.

Cheers Steve.

What loads at Startup?
http://aumha.org/a/loads.htm

Open the Cyberlink application by double-clicking on the taskbar (systray?)
icon. Somewhere (e.g., ToolsOptions) you should be able to disable the
application from loading at Startup.

Cheers for that,

Have run MSCONFIG start up and unchecked the listing with cyberlink in
it, if it does not work I'll just check it again.

To do it as "Open the Cyberlink application by double-clicking on the
taskbar (systray?)
icon. Somewhere (e.g., ToolsOptions) you should be able to disable the
application from loading at Startup."

Could I open the application in program files cyberlink and do it there.

Cheers Steve

Yes. If you have problems, mention which CL app it is and I'll have a =
peek on a machine that it is installed on here.

Hi

Have done the deed in msconfig and it worked straight off,.

Q1 Why is this a Temp fix.

Q2 Can you run through how to do it in program files cyberlink.

For your info, in program files there is a folder titled cyberlink, and a
folder titled cyberlink dvd solutions, (bear with me), it was a window with
just "cyberlink" that sort residence on the desktop, BUT the folder in
msconfig was cyberlink dvd solutions, but the folder has vacated anyhow.
Any insight as to how this has worked.

Cheers Steve.

The one on the desktop I would tend to believe was only a shortcut. =
From what you mention I take it the folder was empty and resided in =
c:\program files\cyberlink.
It sounds to me as if it was a incomplete or failed install. Cyberlinks =
DVD Solution is software for burning media, creating editing DVD movies, =
editing photos, yada yada, I think you get the picture. The folder/s =
should not be empty.
You could check Cyberlinks site to see what is included with Solution, =
but I suspect that the Cyberlink Solution which came with the DVD is not =
the full blown app they'll have at their site. Perhaps even look in =
their support for install\uninstall or other questions you may have.

I mentioned temp fix because msconfig should only be used to =
temporarily disable apps until a proper way is found which at times =
requires uninstalling it.

Have a look in Control Panel Add/Remove Programs to see if it is =
there and uninstall it. Then you can reinstall it and see if it works =
itself out, or don't reinstall it if you have other software you already =
use.=20
