Yes, I agree that is what you should get, but I do not. How can I fix this?
Is there a debug guide somewhere to help me sort out where the problem is,
network settings, firewall, or ??

Default Ping does not Work

I found the problem. I had the ICMP messages turned off in my firewall.
Once I enabled them, ping works as expected.
