And Save the driver names and be able to restrore
Windows98 SE with out the CD-ROM just by using A Hard

would like to have a recovery HDD.(Just like my mom's

If you where to set up the PC completely
and then Ghost the HD to the other HD it
would act and be set up as the first.

You need first to decide whether you want
Method A = a clone of your working C from which
you can boot either (A1) in place via a Boot Manager
or (A2) by relocating the clone as your principal drive.
Method B = aids to repair C: in case of need as in
http://home.satx.rr.com/badour/html/backup.html

Driver names may be scattered all over C:
on the whim of each app's programmer
(although all are listed in Registry).

I agree with Don and Greg. You can use a number of programs to shoot a
complete image of your C: drive--I use:

BootIt Next Generation is available from: http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/
and it does partitioning, makes a compressed image, does many other
partitioning chores and is a boot manager. It is not quite as easy to use
as Partition Magic but it is half the cost and has more features. Unlike
the crippled PMagic demo, BING is a *full function* demo you can try for
FREE for 30 days. The web site has a lot of support articles.

Besides the link Don provided, see this one also:
