Explorer error message
Hi guys,
Hoping you might be able to give me direction in dealing with some problems. I am using Windows ME. 1) I was getting explorer error: kernel32.dll - Read some of your posts and cleaned system using Spybot & Adware - thank you. Have also installed Antivirus. Seems to have rectified that error message. 2) Virus scanned has detected Win32.Magistr.24876 virus in C:\Windows\Route.exe - What can I dow now?? 3) Also getting the following error message at startup: Explorer has caused an error in -8272807082.TMP. Explorer will now close. - When I close the message everything locks up until system is reset. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Michael |

Good - you mean you didn't have any anti-virus before????? 2) Virus scanned has detected Win32.Magistr.24876 virus in C:\Windows\Route.exe - What can I dow now?? Allow the Anti-virus to clean your system 3) Also getting the following error message at startup: Explorer has caused an error in -8272807082.TMP. This would seem to be a hijack of some description - a lot of people have been reporting this recently. download the Stinger from here and run it to make sure that A-V-disabling viruses are not present on your PC http://download.nai.com/products/mca...rt/stinger.exe - update your virus scanner and run a full system scan of all files. Reboot to Safe Mode and run CWShredder - to remove variants of the CoolWebSearch hijacker. http://www.merijn.org/cwschronicles.html Use CWShredder, the removal tool: http://www.merijn.org/files/cwshredder.zip http://www.merijn.org/files/CWShredder.exe http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads...CWShredder.exe http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/CWShredder.zip download AdAware from www.lavasoftusa.com, install, update, and run it to remove spyware, adware, and other such nasties from your system. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Michael |
