Thanks for the sentiments guys - but not quite deserved I'm afraid. It was after all, a "WinMe NG - Team Effort" - but more to the point and in the cold light of day, Harry has still won. It's not fixed yet! Yes, it was a Team Effort, but you were the Captain!! And I look at it the opposite way.....Harry lost. He hasn't fixed up what he messed up.....so no winner there. 8-)) Remember Harry's sinister warning :- A good solution seems to be to replace the hard drive, while keeping the old one for eventual reference, Notice he didn't say to keep it to recover data, but "for eventual reference" What for Harry - To haunt us? Be afraid guys, be very afraid! Nah....Harry didn't mean what he said......or for that matter he doesn't say what he means either. As evidenced by this last long saga (drives, drivers, software, hardware, et al used interchangeably most of the time). XX Figgs "TomV" wrote in message ... Hi, Heather, Yep, Mart gets the virtual Medal of Honor, which is awarded for "action above and beyond the call of duty." The latest FF update is a security and stability update. Use the update function within FF to update rather than reinstalling. The update is small (~515 KB) and auto-update works well. Tom Heather wrote: I do think he deserves a medal......sort of "above & beyond the call of duty" or some such.....LOL!! FF working fine.....but I see there is yet another update. Probably a security one. Will have to check and see. Best.....Heather "TomV" wrote in message ... Hey, Mart, Your patience and perseverance are commendable. Have a good rest. Tom snip |

You're welcome Harry - glad you could take the banter. No offence intended
and I'm sure that there was none taken. Good luck with your proposed purchase of an XP box. Mart "webster72n" wrote in message ... Mart: I am glad everyone is feeling better, which is not what I can say for myself, but then why should that matter? As long as we keep this particular NG alive and "well". Once the official support for WinME ceases, we can always form a parent relationship with WinXP. Did I forget the mention to thank everyone for their support? If so, I'm doing it here. Harry. |

Oops, I forgot to put the "u" in Honour. It must have been the spell
check; it won't accept the spelling. Heather wrote: I knew you Yanks would have the appropriate Medal for Mart. (Honour has a 'u' in the UK and Canada, btw.....lol) Come to think of it, the US is the only country that spells all those words wrong. Guess we will never convince you of that tho. 8-)) FF is now patched and it went quite smoothly. I haven't done it from within before, usually did it when the notice flew up in my face. I notice it checked extensions as a second thing. Maybe one of these days, we will get Mart trying it out. (not bloody likely, Mart is muttering, lol) Thanks, Heather |

That's only because you have it set for US spelling.....mine is set for
Canadian, lol. FWIW, all of our print media have to spell words the American way, so it does tend to get a bit confusing. When I used to write for the newspapers, I would get chastised for using our spellings. (G) Back to booking the rest of our Maritime holiday!! Heather "TomV" wrote in message ...
