Windows screen freezes on startup

Hi
When I turn on my PC it freezes at the Windows 98 screen. Ive tried to go
into safe mode also but the screen just goes black. I recently moved house so
thought something mite be lose but I checked all the connections and they
seem to be fine.Any ideas of whats causing it?

You checked it over completely? Something inside the machine is perhaps shaken
lose? The symptoms indicate that some hardware item is not responding correctly.
Can you boot to a floppy startup disk? If so, can you read the hard disk
contents? If so, try a Step-by-Step startup. OK everything. What is the last
item listed before it freezes? Or, try a logged startup. Then read the
bootlog.txt file from a floppy startup and see what the last item is.
