Why!!!!

Running on ME with IE6.

When I right click in IE 6 and 'Save picture as' the file
type indicates JPEG. When I save the file and go to the
folder it is in and select view details it still is
indicated as JPEG. When I click to open the file it ask me
to 'Open with'. I have gone to the folder options and
selected that JPEG should open with Image preview. Also if
I go to the file and rename the file by adding .JPEG on
the end it then opens fine.
