Error: RPC Server Is Unavailable
When I try to make an incremental backup using Acronis True Image (v7.0) the
following error is displayed: | E00640068: Failed to create the scheduled task Failed to create the scheduled task. Error #1722 - "The RPC server is unavailable." and my only option is to press the "OK" button. | The MSKB has article Q224370 which addresses the issue but I do not understand the "resolution" beyond step one. Any help would be gratefully received. |

Error: RPC Server Is Unavailable
KB224370 is for those running NT type systems such as W2K and XP rather
than Win9x systems such as Win Me. Does Acronis True Image 7 support Win Me? I assume from your post that it does given that it is quite an old version as Acronis TI 10.0 is the current version released late last year. -- Mike Maltby ctowers wrote: When I try to make an incremental backup using Acronis True Image (v7.0) the following error is displayed: E00640068: Failed to create the scheduled task Failed to create the scheduled task. Error: RPC Server Is Unavailable
I'm using Acronis v7 on a XP MCE system with a FAT32 drive. There is nothing
in the Acronis "system requirements" which would prohibit or restrict its use on such a system. I made a full disk image one month ago without problem, it's the incremental backup that's now causing the trouble. The hard disk has three partitions: c, d, and hidden; I'm attempting to image c on d so there should not be a connection issue. -- _ct_ Mike M wrote: KB224370 is for those running NT type systems such as W2K and XP rather than Win9x systems such as Win Me. Error: RPC Server Is Unavailable
The relevant word in your post is XP, since this is a NG supporting Win Me
my original answer holds and has nothing to do with the filing system in use but rather the operating system. The error message you quoted was that from an XP system rather than Win Me since Win Me has no RPC service. Perhaps I again misunderstand your post but if you are running Acronis on XP and getting this error then this is not the NG to which to post the problem, -- Mike Maltby ctowers wrote: I'm using Acronis v7 on a XP MCE system with a FAT32 drive. Thank you, I will post on an XP newsgroup then.
