Firstly, as you don't know what you are doing, DON'T DO ANYTHING!!!

At worst you can only screw-up your machine beyond repair by messing about
in your Registry - Don't go there without some guidance.

Secondly, why on earth would you be doing a registry scan when you haven't a
clue what you are doing or what it means and how to interpret it?

Thirdly, what piece of 3rd party snake oil are you using to do a registry
scan - and who told you to use it? But *that* might further explain why you
are having troubles g Get rid of it!!

Taking one step at a time, in very simple terms, just tell us where your
version of WinMe fails to run as expected. Let's take it from there.

Nah ... run that registry thing and see how much it can screw with the
OS ... after all, what is System Restore for if one never uses it ?
If you trust registry 'things' then I have some land in Florida to sell
you that 'can't lose' $$$ on .

Hey, Mow, if you want to target Brits too, you could throw London Bridge in
with the deal as a means of reaching their new property. Remember, you can't
spell Everglades without 'glad', eh?

How are the Arseolas?

And there I was under the impression that is was an American who was so
enamoured with London Bridge that he chose to remove our unwanted rubbish
for us and pay us for the privilege. g As for the Brits I think we are
only too glad to let him have it!

Is that where the rest of Blackfriars Bridge went, Mike? I can just see some
obscenely-wealthy American trying to put it up like an ironing board.

http://galleryshane.fotopic.net/p37046009.html

Must get back there and take a better shot.

And you do have to hand it to the Yanks - though possibly 'it' is a
straitjacket. Didn't they actually build a lake in the desert in order to
'use' the bridge? I guess if they'd really got Tower Bridge they'd have put
a ship there just to have a reason to raise the road. Probably had an eye on
Cutty Sark. And in fact we could sell them one of the footpaths, after all,
we have two.

Actually this is uncomfortably close to the truth. I've been increasingly
concerned about the fact we're governed by people who seem to see a virtue
in selling the family silver. I believe it's the Germans own an inordinate
amount of London, but the Yanks are second? I came to the conclusion
recently it's because though we may be a nation of shopkeepers, the one's
pulling the strings come from butlering stock. They *want* to look after the
property of their 'betters', not own their own, so they sell ours! Jeez,
even our power and water!

Not much to say other than that I agree with most if not all of your post.
I think London Bridge now spans a waterway near Lake Havasu in Arizona.
The waterway may be man made but not the lake. As for the old Blackfriars
Bridge this has always intrigued me although I've never felt sufficiently
strongly about it to find out why it was left in the state it is. Perhaps
I'll do so now as I've got time to kill whilst testing four hard disks
that make up a RAID 5 array on my main PC. At the present rate of
progress I might be done by daybreak.

Some try to buy history, others sell it. They're called Franchises.

If I ever come to writing my own philosphy, this is one I worked out long
ago: some are born mad, some have madness thrust upon them. Most pay for it
in ready cash.

Though I lost track of what we were talking about so long ago it almost
predates my uttering anything at all!
