Hp Pavilion 8705 Windows Me
I started the Recovery Restore Program on my HP Pavilion 8705 and the process
stopped part way through. Looks like the disc is damaged and now I cannot figure out how to proceed from here. HP Support was not very helpful. I have a reboot floppy but don't know what the next steps would be, someone suggested changing BIOS but I don't know specifics. Anyone have any similar experiences. I also have a back-up CD. Thanks |

You think the disc is damaged because the recovery stops or because you see
scratches on the disc? If you see scratches, you can get them professionally buffed off at a Hollywood Video or a BlockBuster. The machine they use at HV looks like a paint mixer, it is so rugged. For me they buffed a DVD I bought so there was no charge but I think you should expect them to charge for the service. Ask first. Good luck. Thanks very much, I really think the problem is the scratched disc - I'll
give it a try at Blockbuster. John wrote: You think the disc is damaged because the recovery stops or because you see scratches on the disc?
