Where is my file 2
Would someone please take a look at my thread of "where is my file".
Maybe you know the answer and can also tell me why I seem to have tilted Mike. Not sure if it is related, but I ran across something strange this morning. Browsed to archive where I keep some data. Specifically a folder that contains data and forms for Vietnam Vets and noticed a file name that I never created, except unknowingly. DDCC7300 No extension even. I did a search for *DDCC7300*.* to see if I might have passed over a file of same or similar name with pointer and accidentally saved to that name in a different folder. It only returned the one file. So I have no idea how it came about. But if I open it is an excel file. An older version of a database that I have since added more sheets and data to. Note, my original thread was about search, and am now double bewildered. Any ideas to how this file came about or my stupidity about search are appreciated. TIA Norman |

Where is my file 2
Thanks for the input on that strange file. That was one of my thoughts as
well, how it got created, but I needed a vote of confidence. Especially with other issue and undetermined yet. First time I've used a SG drive, hoping they are good. Also 160G limited to 137G. I remember a time when stuff started acting weird like this after some use and finally scrambling to the point I had nothing. Think it 98SE without update for drives larger than 64?G on an 80G. So, hopefully just the one problem to pursue. Norman "N. Miller" wrote in message ... Wish you had given the MID$ for that thread. Your OP in that thread is: Message-ID: for people who know how to search on that. As for what "tilted" Mike, well, check my response to that post. An MID$ search should find: Message-ID: There is a short list of 7 of the files and folders found, out of the 78 files and folders the search turned up. Could be a remnant of a temporary file created by Excel. I don't use that application, so I am not sure. It probably is unrelated to your search issues. -- Norman ~Shine, bright morning light, ~now in the air the spring is coming. ~Sweet, blowing wind, ~singing down the hills and valleys. |
