Cannot Shut Down

For some time now, I cannot shut down my computer. If I
shut down the computer, it goes into a blank screen mode
but still stays on. I have to use the on/off button and
when I restart it, it does the automatic disk scan for
improper shut down. I have other Windows problems as well,
which I think may be related. How do I fix this?

I Have the same problem. Good thing you asked. I'll let
you know if I find something out.
