Default Connection wizard process!

I want to use connection wizard to set up another account. Each time I enter
the wizard ans press new account ( or any of the other options) i get
dialogue saying, i will now get some files from the internet that windows
needs for this process. When I press ok i then get another dialogue from
wizard saying: The wizard has not yet finished setting up the account. Do you
want to quit. Ok then closes the wizard and nothing further happens. I have
all Explorer 6 files in the ../program files/internet explorer/connection
wizard folder for explorer 6 (dated 2005) except for icwhelp.dll and one
other wich is dated 1999 so i assume they are originals. I have followed the
replacement process as described in the microsoft help for wizard says:
unable to start helper. That is the files windows/system/tapi32.dll and
icwhelp.dll in the previous folder. I have tried deleting explorer 6 and
reloading to no avail. any help please.

I do not have Win98 in front of me, so please bear with me if I am a tad off
as I am doing this out of memory.

Go to you Control Panel / Add Remove Programs
Click on the Windows Tab or Windows Setup tab.
Remove the check mark from Communications
Ok, Apply, Reboot

Go back into Add / Remove Programs, Windows Setup and check mark
communications (you may want to double click on the actual word and make sure
that it is not installing tons of un-needed stuff such as netmeeting and the
likes.

Ok, apply, reboot and voila... Things should be back to normal.

*NOTE* Make sure you have easy access to the cab files and or your 98 CD.

Enjoy,

Renta-Geek.

Thanks for info, Renta-geek, unfortunately I have checked in
control/add/remove programme and the windows setup tab and find nothing
there. I have inserted the 98 setup disc and tries adding but nothing comes
of it. I remember now, that I have downloaded 2 98SE updates and it has not
worked since then.

Updates are 823559 and one 84... something.

I think I will remove all and reboot with windows 98SE basic
