Slow Windows Explorer
When browsing through the directory tree, Windows Explorer
is often quite slow - takes 30 secs to read the contents of a directory and display icons, especially if directory contains large files (1+ MB). Any idea what is causing this? I have a pc with Duron 1000, 512 MB RAM, 40GB disk (2 x 20 GB partitions) and WIn 98 SE. Thanks Steve |

Move everything from My Documents to a new folder on the desktop. Does
this solve the problem? If so, find a new home for the stuff you moved and limit how much you file in My Documents in the future. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "Steve" wrote in message ...
