Win ME computer can't access router
Several hours with Linksys which said the problem is with settings in ME. I'm
trying to network 2 computers thru a linksys befw11s4 wireless access point router. PC1 & PC2 can access internet PC2 can access router PC1 can NOT access router. When it's pinged it times out. PC1 can not find PC2 in it's network PC2 can find PC1, however can not find path, can not access I used wizard for both and set up file sharing I'm at a dead end and believe the 2 issues are related. I could be wrong! PC1= Win ME, hardwired to router out to internet that works PC2= Win XP MCE, wireless internet and access to router work. I unpluged(nic) PC1 and and hardwired PC2 to router and it could access both internet and the route. Which tells me it would be in the setting some where in PC1. This has worked in the past, but it has been a long time since I tried to access the router from pc1. Since I just got a laptop I wanted to network them. Any thoughts? -- Thanks, RP |

Win ME computer can't access router
Try one of the networking groups. I have a wireless router here (DLink)
and it is off at the moment, but it was working to *hard* connect ME and XP. Plus my daughter was able to use it on her Mac laptop when she was here. They are very complicated to understand. Perhaps phone Linksys and have them help also. Cheers....Heather "RP" wrote in message ... Several hours with Linksys which said the problem is with settings in ME. Win ME computer can't access router
Have a look at this site and see if you can find any help, plus do a
google search for Steve Winograds site, you should be able to sort out your problems with one or the other. Hope that helps. Win ME computer can't access router
I'll give it a try. It shouldn't be as difficult as it has been.
