Default Win98 comparison

Does Win 2000 "look" like Win98SE which I'm running now? I have to get
a new computer and everytime I play with WinXP I hate it. I want
something that "looks" like Win98SE when you click on various places
(like START fo instance).

Thanks

Henry

I have the same problem. I did not hear good things about
2000 or Melenium when working PC support, HP Netserver
support or when working as a CompUSA Cert Tech. You will
and should get XP on the new machine whether we like it or
not! XP is considered a good OS but it has a different
look and feel from 98SE. You can tweak it a little to
look like 98. Some of the unix GUI's I have seen come
close to 98. You can download it for free. Install it to
its own hard drive partition and see if you like it
better. You better know what you're doing if you go that
route! I still use 98SE on my old machine but have XP Pro
on new Pent 4 machineI built for my wife.

Easy enough with XP if you switch to Classic.

For the Start Menu right click the Taskbar, click Properties Start Menu tab.
Select Classic Start Menu and click the Customize button for other options.

Windows 2000 looks almost exactly the same as Windows 98. Any differences
are due to changed functionality rather than user interface changes.
