How to reclaim my favorites from removed "Firefox" browser?
After making the mistake of trying another internet browser, I removed it, or
so I thought. I have eliminated all traces I can find of Firefox's browser, but my favorite list and some other programs refuse to open. I get an error message "cannot find browser". I have even run the Windows Internet Explorer repair tool. |

If the suggestions from Haggis don't bring Joy, try repairing IE. Try any
of the below: Click Start Run, type in: msinfo32 and press Enter. On the Menu bar click Tools Internet Explorer Repair Tool Repair IE. Select the highlit/bold items which were/are installed and follow the prompts. To repair IE6: Click StartRun, type: RUNDLL32 SETUPWBV.DLL,IE6Maintenance Choose the Repair option, and continue. If the repair says it cannot complete, reinstall Internet Explorer over itself. To repair IE5 type: rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE5Maintenance "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINDOWS\IE Uninstall Log.Txt" Blank Desktop or Illegal Operations Error Message After You Install Internet Explorer: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=kb;en-us;249191 Recovering From a Failed Internet Explorer Upgrade in Windows 98: http://www.cs.bsu.edu/~gjjones/admin...nd ows98.html -- Brian A. How to reclaim my favorites from removed "Firefox" browser?
Glad you got it sorted. Please note that your problem most likely was not due to
having installed Firefox, but due to letting Firefox become your default browser and taking over functions formerly allotted to IE. I have IE, Firefox, Opera, and other browsers all installed on this machine, with no such problems.....but I have never allowed the other browsers to take over the default position from IE. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Blondeheat2000" wrote in message ... You are absolutely right, I did, in fact allow Firefox to become the default
browser. Thanks so much for the excellent advise. Joining this group is the best thing that's ever happened to my computer! Thanks again! "glee" wrote: Glad you got it sorted. Excellent advise, as always. I suspect you might be the "Haggis" from "Haggis
Boost", a wonderful configuration program. Thanks again! "Haggis" wrote: "Blondeheat2000" wrote in message ...
